The Illinois League of Financial Institutions is the
statewide trade association which serves Illinois state and
federally chartered savings and community banking institutions. Its
purpose is to serve the Illinois financial institutions business and
the public interest by fostering thrift and homeownership and by
sustaining and promoting the legislative, regulatory and business
interests of its members.
Organized in 1880, the League represents 140 thrift and community
banking institutions with assets of $23 billion. The League is the
industry's chief vehicle for advancing its interests in the
legislative, regulatory, and public opinion arenas. The League and
its members can point to numerous accomplishments, tremendous
growth, and service to savers, borrowers, and homeowners throughout
the state for more than a century.
The League concentrates
on four primary areas of activity -- advocacy, education, information, and
member services -- to help its members compete and prosper in a rapidly changing
business environment.
