The League maintains a political action committee
(ILFIPEC) to help promote and protect the interest of the business
by supporting candidates who will support and defend the business.
Formal briefings and informal get-togethers between industry
executives and elected officials are a part of the League's on-going
effort to maintain regular lines of communications with lawmakers
and ensure that issues affecting the industry are understood by
legislators.
ILFIPEC is a non-partisan political action committee established
under state law. Its purpose is to promote good citizenship through
the personal and financial participation of personnel and directors
of member institutions. ILFIPEC contributions help the League with
its educational efforts and are distributed to campaign committees
of legislators and candidates who support our business. ILFIPEC
contributes only to candidates for state office.
