There’s no end to compliance issues – but there is help:  The Illinois League of Financial Institutions is pleased to offer this Spring its annual Compliance Seminar featuring its endorsed provider for compliance services, Tom Thomas of Thomas Compliance Associates (TCA).  Mr. Thomas, one of the Illinois League’s most popular presenters, will conduct two special full day seminars (Chicago and Springfield) that will help bankers ensure that their compliance programs pass regulatory muster.

Mr. Thomas, managing principal and CEO of TCA, is consistently ranked as one of the League’s most highly rated speakers.  That’s because he understands compliance and banking – and has a rare ability to provide practical, easily understood information.

Here are the details about the topics to be covered during the League’s Spring Compliance Seminar:

bulletID Theft Red Flags – Preparing a Program and learning how to assess likely risks.
bullet  BSA – New and emerging exam trends and recent vulnerabilities.
bulletBuilding a sound compliance monitoring program through a solid risk assessment.
bulletFair Lending – How to conduct a self assessment to satisfy the examiners.
bulletIT Exams – FFIEC wants a more robust vulnerability scanning & penetration testing.
bulletFlood Rules – FEMA ramps up condo coverage and changes other insurance rules.
bulletPre-exam diligence – Keeping on top of what deficiencies examiners are finding.

WHAT TO EXPECT:  Attendees will gain awareness of what federal examiners expect when they visit your institution…insights as to how to prepare…timing of new requirements…steps to take to keep compliance on the right track.

Who Should Attend

Compliance Officers, IT Managers, Senior Lenders,  Operations Staff, BSA Officers,  Trainers and Senior Management.

Seminar Leader

Tom Thomas, managing principal and CEO of TCA (Thomas Compliance Associates), the League’s endorsed provider of compliance information and support will lead the seminar.  Mr. Thomas is one of banking’s most respected compliance authorities – a result of his unique ability to understand how the federal rules apply to both everyday bank operations and the bottom line.  He is also a director of a commercial bank.  Mr. Thomas has provided hands-on compliance support to financial institutions for more than 30 years.

One of our most popular presenters, Mr. Thomas has extensive experience in financial institution operations, technology and compliance – and has a rare talent to share the knowledge he has gained with seminar audiences.

Mr. Thomas is a regularly featured speaker at national, regional and statewide industry meetings and has written more than 500 articles on compliance issues.
